treatment modalities

Somatic Experiencing (SE)

A therapeutic approach designed to address and heal the symptoms of trauma. It focuses on the bodily sensations associated with traumatic experiences, aiming to release stored tension and promote the body's natural ability to self-regulate and heal.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

An evidence-based therapy specifically designed to help individuals who have experienced trauma. It combines cognitive behavioral techniques with trauma-specific interventions to address symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and behavioral difficulties resulting from trauma.

Mindfulness

An approach where individuals cultivate present moment awareness and non-judgmental acceptance of their thoughts, emotions, and sensations. In therapy, mindfulness techniques are often used to increase self-awareness, reduce stress, and promote emotional regulation.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

A modality that emphasizes the development of skills for mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. It was originally developed to treat individuals with BPD but has since been adapted for a range of mental health conditions characterized by emotional dysregulation and interpersonal difficulties.
